Workshops part II
Today’s programme was also dominated by workshops. Moreover it was the day for meeting the Satebu members in the Cheptais cluster. Michiel Bontenbal and Vincent Looije were giving the workshops again. Today’s themes were the collection centre, marketing and the technical side of cultivation. In order to make sure that as much of the information as possible ‘sticks’ with the people, we repeated part of yesterday’s programme. There was a very good atmosphere and everybody was very attentive during the workshops. We noticed how the farmers have started to discuss amongst themselves how certain cultivation related problem could be approached. This is a fantastic development because it means that they are starting to share information. In order to keep everyone awake, we had organized some bottles of coca cola and chocolate biscuits for the break . After the workshops, many people wanted to talk to Vincent; they are very happy and grateful that he can teach them as growers so much about cultivation. We also discussed tomorrow’s programme and visited a few more fields. Alas, the last field did make us a little sad because this farmer has made a real mess of things. After providing him with some clear instructions, we went back to our hotel under a dark threatening sky and accompanied by a distant thunderstorm. Whilst waiting for our dinner, which usually takes about 2 hours here, we talked about today’s experiences and prepared ourselves for our last working day with the farmers. Time really flies over here, so we intend to enjoy ourselves thoroughly over the last 2 days.

Warsztaty, część II
Dzisiejszy program dnia znów stał pod znakiem warsztatów. Spotkaliśmy się dzisiaj z członkami komitetu z Satebu w grupie Cheptais. Zajęcia znów prowadzili Michiel Bontenbal i Vincent Looije. Dzisiejsze tematy krążyły wokół collection centre, marketingu i technicznej strony upraw.
